2026-2027 Running Races in Charlotte, North Carolina
Upcoming running races in and near Charlotte, North Carolina - 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons and more, with dates, pricing, finish-time stats, start-line maps, and local run clubs to train with.
Charlotte running is shaped by its greenways as much as its streets. The Booty Loop's oak-canopied hills in Myers Park, the Rail Trail threading through South End past breweries and taprooms, the singletrack out at the Whitewater Center along the Catawba - these are the backdrops where the city's running identity actually lives, and they show up in the races too.
Run clubs here are deeply woven into the social fabric, from South Fork and River Jam to Black Men Run Charlotte and Mad Miles, which means strangers at the start line are often already training together. Fall is the season the city leans into hardest, and the greenway corridors stay busy year-round because the shade makes even summer mornings workable.
By the numbers
The Biggest and Longest-Running
The Charlotte races that stand out on the numbers: the biggest field, and the longest unbroken run of editions.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 8, 2026.
Common Questions About Racing in Charlotte
Am I going to be the slowest person out there?

When should I be looking for a race? Is there a busy season?

Is Charlotte a good place to run a first half marathon?
