About This Club

Mad Miles is a free, Black-led social run club that meets at YVY Training in Camp North End, Charlotte. It's built around DJ warm-ups and a dance-party vibe after the run, and it's genuinely set up for people who run/walk or are new to running, not just for people chasing times.

  • Black-led
  • Live DJ warm-ups
  • Post-run dancing
  • Free runs
  • DJ music
  • Inclusive community

Who It Suits

This suits beginners, walkers, and people who want the run to lead into an actual hangout with music and dancing, at zero cost and no commitment to join anything. It's not built for elite racers or trail runners, both the distance (2 miles, road/pavement) and the social-first setup point away from serious training.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Runs are 2 miles on road and pavement, with all paces welcome and run/walk mixed in, so you're not locked into a single group speed. Mon/Tue you warm up at 6:30pm with a DJ before running at 6:45pm, and Saturdays start at 10am. Given the distance and pace range, this reads as a distance you can walk all of if you want, not a route where you're chasing a pack.

Your First Run

Just show up, there's no registration or membership needed. Get there for the 6:30pm warm-up on Mon/Tue (Saturdays start at 10am) at YVY Training, 1724 Statesville Ave in Camp North End, and there's free parking. Because run/walk is built in and pace isn't fixed, being slower isn't going to leave you alone on the course. The DJ and post-run dancing mean the social part is loud and structured, not a stand-around-awkwardly situation.
