About the Running Scared 5K
The course runs through the South Park area, a mix of roads that get closed for the morning. It is a Halloween costume race, so expect face paint and creative outfits at the start. There is a costume contest, kids' activities, food trucks, and a DJ at the finish. Proceeds benefit Carolina Breast Friends.
Packet pickup is the evening before at a fitness center on Rexford Road, with race-morning pickup available as a backup. Parking is not at the race site itself; runners are directed to nearby lots along Rexford Road, and the mall lot a short walk away is another option.
