Running in Charlotte, North Carolina
Charlotte might have more brewery-affiliated run clubs per square mile than any city in the Southeast. If there’s a taproom in your neighborhood, there’s probably a running group attached to it.
The Charlotte Running Club is a nonprofit that serves as the connective tissue for the entire metro, listing dozens of weekly group runs across neighborhoods. Charlotte Runners has been going since 2007, and their Thursday night flagship run at Legion Brewing in Plaza Midwood hasn’t missed a week in over 16 years. NoDa Run Club, Sycamore Brewing Run Club, Resident Culture Run Club, and Triple C Brewing Run Club keep the brewery running calendar full throughout the week. Mad Miles Run Club adds weekend morning options for early risers.
Between the Little Sugar Creek Greenway and the neighborhoods around South End, Plaza Midwood, and NoDa, Charlotte gives you routes with character and running groups with personality.
