RunBots
Charlotte, North Carolina
Classic brewery run club staple: accessible, festive, community-driven.
About This Club
RunBots is a weekly Tuesday run out of Wooden Robot Brewery in Charlotte's South End, free to join with no signup required. It's built for people who want a low-key run followed by a beer, not a training group chasing splits. Beginners and mixed-pace groups are the norm here, not the exception.
Highlights
- Rain or shine
- Contactless phone routes
- Multiple looped distances
- Brewery-hosted
- Free routes on phone
- Brewery social
- Apparel purchase perks
Who It Suits
This suits social runners, beginners, and people who genuinely want the post-run beer to be part of the plan, since it's brewery-hosted and that's baked into the format. It's not going to work for competitive racers looking for structured pace work, trail runners wanting technical terrain, since this is street and rail trail, or early risers, since this is a 6:30pm run. It's also not set up for strollers or dogs.

What a Run With Them Is Like
You've got three route options each week, 1, 3, or 5 miles, run on street and rail trail. Routes are shared contactlessly to your phone rather than printed or led by a pacer, and since there's no pace group structure, the field naturally spreads out by effort. It happens every Tuesday at 6:30pm, rain or shine, so it's not a run that gets canceled on you.
Your First Run
Show up to the patio at the corner of W Summit Ave & Winnifred St by 6:30pm on a Tuesday, no signup or advance notice needed. Bring your phone since the routes are sent digitally, and bring your ID if you want to stick around for a beer after (you have to be 21+).
Nobody's assigning pace groups, so there's no mechanism here to single you out for being fast or slow, and with three distances to choose from you can pick the 1-miler if you just want to ease in. Check their Instagram or Facebook beforehand if you want to confirm anything's changed for that week.

Common Questions About RunBots
Do I need to sign up in advance?
No. It's free, there's no membership requirement, and no signup process. Just show up Tuesday at 6:30pm.
What happens if the weather's bad?
It runs rain or shine, so a rainy Tuesday isn't a reason it gets canceled.
Can I bring my dog or a stroller?
This one isn't set up for either, per the club's own info, so leave them at home for this run.
What's the deal with the post-run brewery social?
After the run, Wooden Robot Brewery has drinks available for 21+ with ID, and there are apparel perks if you wear WRB or RunBots gear for prepaid pours.
Which route should I pick my first time?
There are 1, 3, and 5 mile options each week, all on street and rail trail, so you can start with the 1-mile loop if you want a shorter first outing.
Where this comes from: Club details come from each club’s own channels (their site, Meetup, Strava and social posts) and are checked by hand. Group runs move, so confirm the meeting spot on the club’s latest post before you head out. Last updated April 2026.
