St. Louis running is shaped by the riverfront and the parks. Most everyday miles here are flat - the Riverfront Trail along the Mississippi, the Forest Park loops, Grant's Trail threading south toward Kirkwood - with hills only showing up when you push into the county parks or the bluffs. The Gateway Arch grounds and the Great Rivers Greenway paths give the city a connected, walkable running spine that feels unlike anywhere landlocked.
