About the Labor Day Slay 5K-10K-10KRUCK-Half Marathon
The course runs through Queeny Park on rolling, shaded trails. The terrain has some give to it and the tree cover makes a difference on a late-summer morning. Ruckers share the course with runners, which gives the whole thing an unusual mix of efforts. The route is fully marked, and an aid station sits at the turnaround point of each lap.
Everything starts and finishes at Racers Village near a pavilion in the park. Packet pickup opens race morning well before the start, and the organizers recommend arriving early. There is music at the village, free photos and finish-line video, snacks, drinks, and popsicles at the finish. A portion of proceeds supports a local school district cross country program.
