About the Veterans Appreciation Run

The course runs through Jefferson Barracks Park, a former military installation with a long history tied to the armed forces. The route is tree-lined and relatively flat, and the park setting gives the morning a quieter, more reflective tone than a typical road race. The race benefits veteran support efforts across the Saint Louis area throughout the year.

There is a pre-race ceremony before the start, which includes the national anthem. Packet pickup runs the morning of the race, opening well before the start. Awards are presented shortly after the field finishes, and recipients need to be on hand to collect them.
