About the Greater St. Louis Marathon

The course moves through downtown St. Louis and out through Forest Park, so there is real city texture to it: wide roads, familiar skyline views, and a stretch through one of the larger urban parks in the country. The route covers varied terrain without being punishing, and the scale of the event brings out solid crowd support along the way.

Packet pickup happens at an outdoor expo held in the days before the race, which doubles as a gear and recreation show with a lot of booths to wander if you arrive early. The expo is free to get into, and race-morning pickup is available as a backup for those coming in from out of town.
