Upcoming running races in and near Indianapolis, Indiana - 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons and more, with dates, pricing, finish-time stats, start-line maps, and local run clubs to train with.
Indianapolis running has a clear spine: the Canal Walk, the Cultural Trail, and the Monon Trail give you long, car-light corridors through downtown and up into Broad Ripple, where the run almost always ends near a brewery or coffee shop. The city is flat by default, which means weekday miles flow easily, and the social energy that gathers around those neighborhoods makes it feel like a place where people actually look forward to showing up.
When you want softer footing and tree cover, Fort Harrison State Park on the northeast side is the city's main alternative to pavement. Summers run hot and humid, so most training shifts to early mornings - and the fall race calendar reflects exactly that, with the bulk of the year's events landing after the heat breaks.

The Biggest and Longest-Running
The Indianapolis races that stand out on the numbers: the biggest field, and the longest unbroken run of editions.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 8, 2026.

How long do most people take to finish a 5K here?
Across the 18 RunSignup 5K editions with published results on RunSesh - walkers and charity entrants included - the median finish time is 40:47. The median winner came in at 19:29, and the median last finisher crossed at 1:14:14. That spread is wide, which means the field tends to include everyone from competitive runners to people out for a walk, and the back of the pack is not a lonely place.

When should I plan my race if I want the most options?
