Indianapolis, IN
This one goes out after dark, in winter, on trails. That alone sets the tone. You are not running on lit paths through a park; you are out in the cold with a headlamp, on terrain that demands some attention underfoot. The field keeps coming back for it, which tells you something about how the night holds up against whatever discomfort the temperature brings.
