Missouri Running Groups
Missouri’s running scene is anchored by two cities that take the sport seriously, and the community between them keeps the whole state connected.
Kansas City has a running culture that punches above its weight. The Kansas City Running Club offers group runs, educational clinics, and charity races across the metro area. Kansas Run Club hosts free Wednesday evening runs at Country Club Plaza where you show up, run three miles, and leave with new friends.
The Roadrunners of Kansas City have been supporting runners for four decades with free monthly group runs open to all paces. KC Fire Track Club and Kansas City Smoke add competitive training options, and Black Girls RUN! and Black Men Run both have active Kansas City chapters.
St. Louis runners are spoiled by Forest Park, one of the best urban running destinations in the Midwest. The St. Louis Track Club has been a fixture of the local scene for years. Big River Running offers training programs from beginner 5K all the way through marathon distance, plus a free summer speedwork series on local high school tracks.
Running Niche hosts a weekly Wednesday evening run from their South City store. Spewak Racing organizes three weekly meetups across Kirkwood, Clayton, and Forest Park for runners who want consistency.
The St. Charles Runners Club, an RRCA affiliate, keeps the west county running community connected with Saturday morning runs and midweek group runs through Fleet Feet.
Outside the two metros, the Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners bring together nearly 400 members in southwest Missouri. No matter where you land in the Show-Me State, the running community is ready to welcome you in.
