Upcoming running races in and near Nashville, Tennessee - 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons and more, with dates, pricing, finish-time stats, start-line maps, and local run clubs to train with.
Nashville running is tied to the city's geography in a way that feels deliberate: the Cumberland River greenways pull you through Germantown and East Nashville, Percy Warner's trails demand real elevation, and Richland Creek winds quietly through The Nations past the kind of coffee shop you actually want to finish at. The running here earns its post-run reward.
The social layer is genuine. East Nashville, 12 South, and Germantown all have run crews that treat the taproom or coffee counter as part of the route, not an afterthought. Whether you show up for a greenway tempo or a wooded singletrack loop at Percy Warner, you are very likely to find people already out there doing the same thing.
By the numbers
The Biggest and Longest-Running
The Nashville races that stand out on the numbers: the biggest field, and the longest unbroken run of editions.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 8, 2026.
Common Questions About Racing in Nashville
Am I going to be the slowest person at a Nashville 5K, and will anyone care?
Across the 10 RunSignup 5K editions with published results on RunSesh, the median finisher crossed in 37:22, and the median last finisher came in at 1:11:47. That is a wide, inclusive spread - walkers and charity entrants included. Nashville's running culture leans social and welcoming, so the back of the pack is well-represented and nobody is waiting around impatiently.
When is the best time to find a race in Nashville?
Fall is by far the busiest stretch, with 17 races between September and November. September alone has 8. If your training block points to spring, the pickings are much thinner - only 2 races run March through May. February is the quietest single month, with just 1 race.
Is Nashville a good place for a first 10K?
There are 9 races that offer a 10K distance. Across the 4 RunSignup 10K editions with published results on RunSesh, walkers and charity entrants included, the median finisher crossed at 1:08:16 and the median field had 156 runners - small enough to feel personal, big enough not to feel like you are out there alone.
Do Nashville races give out shirts and medals?
Shirts are common here: 28 of the 30 races say they give one. Medals are a different story - only 1 race says it gives a medal. Every single race publishes some detail about what you get, so you will not be left guessing, but if hardware matters to you, check the specific race listing carefully.
Are there trail races near Nashville?
Yes, one race around Nashville gets you off the pavement: 1 mixes road and trail.
