About the Get MOVE'n 5K Retro Run

The course runs through Edwin Warner Park, one of Nashville's larger wooded parks, so the surroundings are shaded and green rather than urban. Costumes are part of the culture here, with decade-themed outfits scattered throughout the field. The event supports MOVE Inclusive Dance, and there are dance performances and vendor activity around the start and finish area.

The race is held at Edwin Warner Park, so parking and access are built into the park's infrastructure. Post-race, there are activities and vendor booths near the finish, and the crowd tends to include families with kids as much as runners chasing times.

Common Questions About the Get MOVE'n 5K Retro Run

Will I finish last at the Get MOVE'n 5K Retro Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.11 Miles field finished slower than 41:05, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:08:47, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Get MOVE'n 5K Retro Run a good first 3.11 Miles?

It is a small race (161 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.11 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Get MOVE'n 5K Retro Run?

The 3.11 Miles winner ran 20:24 while the median finisher took 41:05. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
