Buena Tierra Run Club
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Welcoming hub for Milwaukee's inclusive runners seeking community and flexibility
About This Club
Buena Tierra Run Club is a free, identity-based running community in Milwaukee built around health, unity, and change. They meet three times a week, which is more than a lot of clubs offer, and the whole structure is built so beginners and all-pace runners have somewhere to show up. If you want a group that centers inclusion as the point, not just a marketing line, this is that kind of club.
Highlights
- Focus on health unity change
- Identity-based inclusive
- Multiple weekly runs
- Coached workouts
- Flexible distances
- Inclusive community
Who It Suits
This suits beginners, walkers, and people who want a running club that treats inclusion and community as the actual mission, not an afterthought. It's not set up for stroller runners or dog owners, since neither is accommodated here. If flexible mileage and coached, all-paces workouts sound like what you need, this fits; if you're chasing a fast, race-pace-only crew, look elsewhere.

What a Run With Them Is Like
Runs are built around 3 and 5 mile distances, but workouts are modifiable so you can shorten or extend depending on the day. Wednesday runs start at 6 PM; Sunday is the long run. You'll be on roads and track, and coached workouts are part of the mix rather than just a group jog.
Your First Run
Head to Zocalo Food Park, which is where the club is based, though runs also happen out of La Finca Coffeehouse depending on the day, so check the events page before you go so you land at the right spot. Walkers are explicitly welcome here, and workouts flex to meet you, so there's no version of this where you're the person holding the group back.
Tuesday and Sunday start times aren't locked in on the record, so that events page check matters more on those days. Show up, say it's your first time, and let them point you to the right distance for where you're at.
