About the Lakefront Discovery Run
The course starts at Veterans Park and follows Milwaukee's lakefront, so there is water to your left for most of the run. The terrain is road. It is a Halloween-themed event, and costumes are genuinely part of the culture here, with a best-costume award voted on by volunteers. Aid stations along the way are stocked with candy rather than the usual gels.
Packet pickup runs on several evenings before race day at a local brewing taproom and at two running stores around the area. There is also race-morning pickup at Veterans Park. After you finish, there is a heated tent with post-race snacks, and beer is available regardless of whether you showed up in costume.
