About This Club

West Loop Run Crew is a CARA-affiliated social group that meets Thursday mornings at 6am at Randolph and Peoria. It's built for people who want a flat, manageable 3-5 mile run without worrying about pace, which makes it a solid fit for beginners and walkers as much as regular runners.

Who It Suits

This suits beginners, walkers, and social runners who want a low-pressure, low-cost way to run regularly in the West Loop. It's not built for advanced racers or anyone doing serious long-distance training, and since it's a 6am Thursday run, it won't work for anyone who prefers evening sessions.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Runs are 3-5 miles on flat road terrain, with routes that alternate week to week. All paces are welcome, including walkers, so there's no expectation you'll be running a particular speed. It's an early one, 6am start, so plan your morning around that.

Your First Run

Show up at the corner of Randolph St and Peoria a few minutes before 6am. If you're a CARA member or ran with them at some point in 2025, you don't need to sign up ahead of time, otherwise signup is required but free.

Because all paces and walkers are explicitly welcome, there's no version of this where you're holding people up or bringing up the rear alone. The group is still growing, so you're not walking into a huge established pack, just a crew getting a run in before the day starts.
