About the Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66- Stop 1: Chicago 6.6K
The course runs through Jane Addams Memorial Park on the lakefront, a flat stretch with open views and wide paths. It is part of a longer series following historic Route 66 across Illinois, raising awareness for ALS and supporting one man's effort to run the entire route. The distance is short enough that walkers and runners of most abilities will finish comfortably.
The post-run gathering is organized by the Spirits Run community, so there is a social element after you finish. The park sits right along the lakefront, which makes parking and access worth thinking about ahead of time if you are coming from farther out.
