About the Haunted Halloween Half Marathon & 5km

The course runs through the trails of Lincoln Park before turning south along the lakefront, so you get park paths and open waterfront in the same race. The terrain mixes trail and paved surfaces, and the route is marked at regular intervals. Costumes are a genuine part of the morning, with a judged contest and prize money on offer before the start.

Packet pickup is available at a couple of local running stores beforehand, with a race-morning option at the start area. Parking is available at the Chicago History Museum lot and along Cannon Drive, though the organizers suggest public transit. There is Halloween candy and autumn treats at the finish, and a post-race party with a free beer at a nearby bar.
