About the Tricia Davis 5K for Sinai House

The course runs through Rock Creek Park, starting and finishing at a picnic area near the Carter Barron Tennis Center. The park setting means some rolling terrain rather than a pancake-flat road loop. After the main race, a bubble-themed fun run follows the same general area, and strollers and leashed dogs are welcome at both.

Parking is free in the Carter Barron lot off Colorado Avenue, right next to the start. Packet pickup happens the evening before at a location sent with your confirmation, with a race-morning option available in the same lot. Sponsor-donated snacks are out after the finish, and an awards ceremony wraps up the morning.

Common Questions About the Tricia Davis 5K for Sinai House

Will I finish last at the Tricia Davis 5K for Sinai House?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:05, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:20:38, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Tricia Davis 5K for Sinai House a good first 5K?

It is a small race (179 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Tricia Davis 5K for Sinai House?

The 5K winner ran 17:35 while the median finisher took 39:05. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.

Where can I train for the Tricia Davis 5K for Sinai House?

Join a local run club. District Running Collective, Every Person Run Club, DC Road Runners and others in Washington welcome runners of all paces, and a weekly group run is the most reliable way to hold a training block together.
