About the D.C. International Community 5K & Fun Run
The course runs through Fletcher's Cove in Georgetown, following the kind of riverside path that draws families and casual runners on a weekend morning. Costumes are encouraged, and prizes go to the best dressed across several categories, so the start line tends to look more like a parade than a race.
Check-in opens before the run starts, and candy and light refreshments are set out along the course. Strollers are welcome, so the crowd at the start skews toward families with younger kids alongside runners of every pace.
