About the SHRM Washington DC Impact 5K
The course runs along Beach Drive through Rock Creek Park, a stretch of wooded parkland that cuts through the city. It is paved and relatively gentle, with trees close on both sides. The race raises scholarship funds for a workforce development foundation, and on race morning there is a drive to collect warm socks and handwritten notes for veterans at the local VA Medical Center.
Packet pickup happens the days before at a running store in Arlington, with a second window at the park on race morning before the start. The Arlington location offers both a midday and an evening slot, so there are options depending on your schedule.
