About the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Dallas

The race runs through Anderson Bonner Park on trails, so expect natural terrain rather than pavement. Several distance options make it work for a wide range of runners, from short dashes for kids up through a half marathon. The park setting keeps the course shaded and away from road traffic, and the route has a natural, outdoor feel throughout.

After finishing, there are snacks and water at the race rally tent, and a DJ handles music and runner announcements during the post-race gathering. Award winners are recognized on the spot, so there is reason to stick around beyond your own finish.

Common Questions About the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Dallas

Will I finish last at the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Dallas?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:27:56, and the last recorded finisher came in around 4:44:28, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Dallas a good first 13.1 Miles?

A field of 269 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Dallas?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:17:41 while the median finisher took 2:27:56. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
