About This Club

Train Pegasus is a coach-led training group in Dallas, founded by Alfonzo Gonzalez, built around structured workouts for runners training toward specific goals like races. It meets daily, which is unusual, and the culture leans toward runners who want a real training plan behind their mileage rather than a casual jog. It's free to join and there's no membership requirement.

Who It Suits

This suits runners training for a goal, a race, a time, a distance, who want structure and are willing to get up early, since sessions start at 5:15-6AM on weekdays. It's not built for walkers, stroller runners, or dog owners, since none of those are accommodated here. If you're chasing an evening run or just a casual social jog with no training plan attached, this isn't that group.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Each day has a purpose: recovery runs, tempo work, track or hill sessions, and long runs, so the workout you get depends on which day you show up. Distances range from 4-6 miles on shorter days up to 6-24 miles for long run efforts, and you'll cover road, track, and hills depending on the session. The record notes all paces are welcome within that structure, so the coaching adapts the workout, not just the group.

Your First Run

Head to the Starbucks at 3216 Knox St, but check the current schedule online first since the Saturday long run location changes and other sessions may run from different spots. Weekday starts are early, 5:15 to 6AM, so arrive with time to spare rather than rushing in at the gun.

Beginners are welcomed per the group's own description, and because the workouts are structured by pace and purpose rather than one pack running together, showing up new doesn't mean chasing strangers down the road. If a scheduled distance feels short for your training, the group's own tip is to add miles as needed, which tells you they expect a range of fitness levels showing up to the same session.
