About This Club

Dallas Running Club has been around since 1969 and now runs over 2,500 members deep, based out of White Rock Alehouse & Brewery. It's set up for a wide range of people, from beginners to those training for a half marathon, with structured programs alongside regular group runs. If you want a club with actual infrastructure behind it, pace leaders, training cycles, a real clubhouse, this is that kind of setup rather than a loose meetup.

Who It Suits

This suits beginners, walkers, and runners training for a specific race distance who want structure, pace leaders, and a club with some institutional weight behind it. It's not built for exclusive elite training, and if you're strictly a trail runner, the terrain mix here (roads and neighborhoods along with trails) may not be what you're after. It's also not the spot if you need a stroller-friendly or dog-friendly run, neither is offered here.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Group runs happen Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, with pace leaders and coaches covering everything from base building to hills, tempo, and intervals, so different ability levels aren't stuck running together.

Distances on offer range from 2 miles up to half marathon length, over roads, trails, neighborhoods, and hills around the Dallas area. Because there are pace groups built into the structure, you're not just guessing where you fit, there's a slot for a range of paces.

Your First Run

Start by joining through the club's website, and check their Facebook groups since that's where a lot of the day-to-day communication happens. Show up at White Rock Alehouse & Brewery for a Tuesday evening or Saturday morning run, that's the meeting point every time.

With pace leaders running the show and walkers explicitly welcome, nobody's left to sort out the pace question alone, there are people whose job is literally to lead a group at your speed. Membership is required for training programs and some events, so if you're planning to do more than a single group run, sort that out first.
