The course runs through the Everglades on pavement, incorporating the Shark Valley loop at whatever distance you choose. The start and finish are at the Miccosukee Village, right next to Shark Valley, so the surroundings are flat wetlands the whole way out and back. It is an unusual setting for a road race, presented by the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida.
