About the Miami International Airport (MIA) Runway 5K
This race takes place on an active runway at Miami International Airport, which makes it unlike almost anything else on the local calendar. The course runs on pavement built for aircraft, open sky overhead, no shade, no crowds lining the route. It is part of a series that visits different airports around Miami, and this is the flagship stop.
TSA security governs entry, so a physical government-issued photo ID is required at packet pickup. No digital copies are accepted, no exceptions. All runners are escorted to the start line, and the gate closes on time. Arriving early is not a suggestion here.
