About the Heroes and Villains Half Marathon- Dallas
The race runs through Sam Houston Trail Park, so expect a trail-adjacent setting rather than a road course through neighborhoods. The park gives the course some texture and scenery, and with several distance options from a short kids dash up to the half marathon, the start area draws a wide mix of people. The costume element is genuine: plenty of runners show up in full superhero or villain gear.
Packet pickup happens the morning of the race before the start, so no separate trip is needed the day before. After finishing, the Race Rally Tent has snacks and refreshments, a DJ keeps things going, and an awards ceremony follows. The costume contest runs just before the first wave, which gives the start area a lively, slightly chaotic feel.
