About the Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth
The race starts at Stinson Park in Aksarben Village, a developed urban park with vendor tables and sponsor tents set up around the start area. The course runs through the neighborhood and back, with the shorter distance turning around at the midpoint of the longer route. It is a winter morning race, and the cold is part of the point: the event raises money for local utility assistance programs.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a nearby building on Aksarben Drive, with a second window on race morning at the park. Strollers are welcome, and leashed pets can run with you. Vendors and local businesses in Aksarben Village are open before and after the race, so there is somewhere warm to land when you finish.
