About the Cinco de Mayo
The race starts and finishes at Sellwood Park, sending runners out along the Springwater Corridor, a paved path that follows the waterway through the southeast side of Portland. The out-and-back shape means the surroundings feel familiar on the return, and the trail keeps things smooth and mostly flat underfoot.
Aid stations along the longer courses are stocked with water, sports drink, gels, and gummy chews, and toilets are available at each one. The shorter course runs without an aid station, so carry water if you need it. Back at the finish, there are quesadillas waiting.
