About This Club

Deadstock Run Club meets every Tuesday at 7 PM outside Deadstock Coffee in Old Town Portland, and it is completely free to show up. What makes it genuinely different is that they offer three separate options on the same night: a 1.5-mile walk, a 2.5-mile run, and a 4.5-mile run, so you are not choosing between keeping up or staying home.

Who It Suits

If you are a beginner, returning from injury, or someone who wants a Tuesday evening out that happens to involve movement, this setup works well because you can scale up or down week to week. If you are training hard for a race and need a structured workout with consistent pacing and a coach, this is probably not your primary training session.

What a Run With Them Is Like

You will cover waterfront and mixed terrain, which in Old Town means a mix of pavement and paths along the river. The pace band they describe runs roughly 5:00 to 7:30 minutes per kilometer, so there is real range within the running groups.

Walkers have their own dedicated route, not a modified afterthought. After the run, the group tends to wind down at Lobby bar for cocktails or head to Tope at The Hoxton for dinner, so the evening does not just end at the finish.

Your First Run

Show up to 408 NW Couch St at 7 PM on a Tuesday, that is Deadstock Coffee in Old Town. When you get there, pick the distance that honestly matches how you feel that night, not how you wish you felt.

Nobody is tracking whether you walked or ran, and choosing the 1.5-mile walk is a completely legitimate option, not a consolation prize. Coming alone is normal here, this is a social run club by design, and the post-run gathering at the bar or restaurant is specifically where people actually meet each other.
