About This Club
FoPo Run Club is a free, weekly social run out of Foster-Powell, meeting every Wednesday evening at FoPo Tavern on SE Foster Rd. It is built around 3-4 mile road runs through the neighborhood, with the post-run beer at the bar treated as just as much a part of the evening as the miles. No membership, no fee, no signup required.

Who It Suits
If you are new to running, coming back after time off, or just want miles that feel social rather than serious, this fits. If you are training for a race and need a structured speed or tempo workout, this is not that kind of group.

What a Run With Them Is Like
You will be on pavement the whole way, covering 3-4 miles of Foster-Powell streets. The group is explicitly non-competitive, and they say all paces are welcome, including walkers. Around 15-20 people typically show up, so you are running with a real group, not just a handful of regulars.
Your First Run
Show up at FoPo Tavern, 5902 SE Foster Rd, at 6:30 PM on a Wednesday. You do not need to RSVP or tell anyone you are coming. If you are worried about being slow or last, they say directly that no pace is too slow and walkers are welcome, so this is not a group where the fast runners disappear and leave you on your own.
After the run, the group heads back to the tavern or a nearby spot in the neighborhood, and that is honestly where most people get to know each other.

Common Questions About FoPo Run Club
Is it really free? Do I have to buy anything?
The run itself is completely free and no membership is required. The post-run drinks are on you if you join, but there is no obligation to stay for that part.
Can I walk, or take walk breaks?
Yes. They say walkers are welcome, and the group emphasizes camaraderie over speed, so walking is not treated as a problem.
What if I show up and don't know anyone?
Roughly 15-20 people turn up most weeks, and the post-run social at FoPo Tavern is specifically where the group hangs out together, so walking in alone is a normal thing to do here.
How far will we actually run, and can I cut it short?
They say 3-4 miles on road, which is about as low-commitment a distance as a group run gets. They do not specify split groups or early bail-out routes, so if that matters to you, it is worth checking their social pages before your first time out.
Do I need to RSVP or sign up ahead of time?
No. Just show up at FoPo Tavern at 6:30 PM on a Wednesday. No registration, no membership, nothing to fill out.
Where this comes from: Club details come from each club’s own channels (their site, Meetup, Strava and social posts) and are checked by hand. Group runs move, so confirm the meeting spot on the club’s latest post before you head out. Last updated July 2026.
