About the 2027 Capitol Hill Classic 10K, 3K, and Fun Run
The course runs entirely through Capitol Hill, which means the landmarks are not backdrop but route. You pass Stanton Park, the Capitol grounds, the country's highest court, the national library, Lincoln Park, and out toward the Anacostia Riverwalk before looping back. The terrain is all road, mostly flat urban streets, with a few different distance options to suit where you are in your running life.
The race benefits a local DC public school, so the crowd around the start and finish near Peabody Primary School skews heavily toward families and neighbors. The shorter distances start from the same spot, and the fun run stays close, circling Stanton Park just once.
