About This Club

San Diego Track Club has been running out of SDSU since 1954, with over 750 members currently on its rolls. It's built around coached, structured workouts rather than easy group jogs, so it suits runners who want real training input, whether that's a first half marathon or a track session ahead of a marathon.

Who It Suits

This fits runners who want structure, a coach's eye, and a program that scales from beginner to advanced, especially if you're training toward a half or full marathon. It's not built for casual social running or beer-focused meetups, walk breaks aren't part of the format here, and there's no stroller or dog accommodation. If what you want is workout structure and progression, it delivers that; if you want a low-key social jog, look elsewhere.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Tuesday and Thursday workouts happen at the SDSU Sports Deck, with Saturday sessions moving to various locations. Distances vary by session and by what you're training for, spanning shorter track-style work up through half and full marathon distance, all on road or track surfaces. Workouts are coached and structured, so the plan for the day is set rather than an open run.

Your First Run

Show up to a Tuesday session at the SDSU Sports Deck (55th St & Montezuma Rd) at 6:00pm, that's the one the club itself points newcomers toward before committing to anything. You don't need to join or pay to try it out first, membership isn't required.

If you have questions about what to expect or where exactly to go, email pauliegreer@gmail.com ahead of time, and check the website for the current schedule since Saturday locations move around. Coached workouts are built for all levels, so beginners are genuinely part of the mix, not an afterthought.
