PSL Running Group
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Casual Thursday night social runs from Pittsburgh bars
About This Club
PSL Running Group is the free running club under Pittsburgh Sports League, meeting Thursday nights at rotating Pittsburgh bars, this week at Caliente in Bloomfield. It suits people who want a low-stakes weekly run with no membership, no sign-up, and a drink or a bite afterward if you want it.
Highlights
- Rotating bar/pub starts
- Part of sports league
- Self-navigated maps
- Free to join
- No registration
- Post-run socializing
Who It Suits
This works for beginners, walkers, and people who want a casual social run with a bar attached, not a training group chasing splits. If you want trail miles or a competitive pace group pushing you, this record doesn't point that way. It's also not set up for strollers or dogs.

What a Run With Them Is Like
You pick from routes of 3, 4, or 6 miles, all on street and pavement, and you navigate with your own printed map rather than following a set pack. Pace is open, all paces are accommodated, so this isn't a group that holds together at one speed. Since the start point moves bar to bar each week, the route itself changes too.
Your First Run
Check the PSL site for that week's bar before you go, since it rotates and this week it's Caliente at 4624 Liberty Ave in Bloomfield. Get there by 6:30pm for the start, and grab a printed map for whichever distance you want, 3, 4, or 6 miles.
Because it's self-navigated and all paces are welcome, there's no pack to keep up with and no one timing you, walk breaks are fine. Afterward you can stick around the host restaurant for food and drinks if you're up for it, or head out.
