About This Club

Phidippides Track Club is Denver's dedicated track training group, meeting Tuesday evenings at Belleview Elementary track for structured interval work. It's built for runners who want speed development specifically, not general road or trail mileage, and it draws a wide range of paces, from sub-5 minute milers down to 12 minute milers. It's Denver's oldest running club and, per the record, the only one in the city focused specifically on track-based training.

Who It Suits

This suits runners who specifically want interval and speed work on a track and who fall somewhere in a fairly wide pace range, sub-5 to 12 minute miles. It's not set up for walkers, run-walkers, dogs, or strollers, and if you're looking for trail miles, road running, or a beer-focused social run, the record is clear this isn't that group.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Every session happens on the Belleview Elementary track itself, so it's flat, measured surface, not roads or trails. Workouts are scheduled interval sessions, and runners are grouped by pace so you're training alongside people at a similar speed, whether that's sub-5 pace or 12 minute miles. There's a social element built in after the work is done.

Your First Run

Show up Tuesday at 5:45 PM at the Belleview Elementary track, that's the meeting spot every week during the March through October season. Leaders will help you find the pace group that fits you, so you're not left guessing where you land between sub-5 milers and 12 minute milers.

The club is described as beginner friendly, and the whole point of grouping by pace is so you're not chasing runners way outside your range. If you plan to register online, they'll ask for some demographic info for gear and race purposes.
