About This Club
Pacers Social Runs is the free weekly run program run out of the Pacers Running stores across DC and Northern Virginia. It runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM from different locations, so you can fit it around your week rather than rearranging your whole life for one fixed night. If you are anywhere near Navy Yard, 14th Street, or Capitol Riverfront, one of these meets is probably close to you.
Who It Suits
This works well if you are newer to running, coming back after a break, or just want weekday evening mileage with other people around you - the range from walking to 6 miles covers a lot of ground. If you are training for something specific and need structured speed work beyond Thursday's track session, or you want a set coach-led training plan, this is more of a social base-mileage setup than a coached program.

What a Run With Them Is Like
Routes range from 2 to 6 miles on city streets, urban neighborhoods, and the riverfront trail, with a track workout on Thursday evenings at Benjamin Banneker Recreation Center. The pace is easy to moderate, the kind of base mileage you would do on your own anyway, and there is a dedicated 2-mile walking group for anyone who wants it. They say all paces are welcome, so you are not expected to be chasing anyone.
Your First Run
Show up to whichever location works for you at 6:30 PM - Monday is Pacers 14th Street, Tuesday is Pacers Navy Yard at 300 Tingey St SE, Thursday is the track at Benjamin Banneker Recreation Center. The cost is nothing, and you do not need a membership or to sign up ahead of time.
If you are nervous about pace, the 2-mile walking group gives you a real option that is not a consolation prize. After Tuesday's Navy Yard run, the group heads to Bluejacket in Capitol Riverfront, which makes the first-time awkwardness a lot easier to get through.

Common Questions About Pacers Social Runs
Is it actually free, or is there a catch?
It is free. No membership, no sign-up fee, and they say you do not need to be a Pacers customer or member to show up.
Do I have to run the whole way, or can I walk?
There is a dedicated 2-mile walking group, so walking is a real, built-in option, not something you have to quietly negotiate on your own.
Do I need to register before I come?
No membership or pre-registration is required. Just show up at 6:30 PM at whichever location fits your night.
What happens after the run?
After Tuesday's Navy Yard run, the group goes to Bluejacket in the Capitol Riverfront area. It is a natural place to actually meet people if you are showing up solo.
What is Thursday's workout, and is it for fast runners only?
Thursday is a track workout at Benjamin Banneker Recreation Center, still at 6:30 PM. They say all paces are welcome across all their runs, so it is not reserved for speedsters - but if you want to know exactly what the workout looks like each week, check their store page or social channels before you head over.
Where this comes from: Club details come from each club’s own channels (their site, Meetup, Strava and social posts) and are checked by hand. Group runs move, so confirm the meeting spot on the club’s latest post before you head out. Last updated July 2026.
