About This Club

Mikkeller Running Club LA is the LA chapter of the global Mikkeller brewery run club, built around a simple formula: run about 5 km together, then hang out over a beer. It runs three days a week across Highland Park, Burbank, and Chinatown, so depending on where you live in the city, at least one of those locations probably works for you.

Who It Suits

This suits casual runners who want a consistent social reason to get out the door a few times a week, especially if you enjoy craft beer and are not chasing a race PR. If you want a structured training program, coached intervals, or a purely competitive environment, this is probably not the right fit.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Each outing is roughly 5 km on mixed urban roads. The pace range they describe covers everything from a comfortable jog to a solid push, and they say all paces are welcome, which in practice means you are not going to be the one person dragging the group down. The post-run social is built into the schedule every single time, not an occasional add-on.

Your First Run

Monday nights start at 8:00 PM at The Hermosillo, Thursdays at 7:30 PM at Burbank Memorial Field, and Saturdays at 10:00 AM at Highland Park Brewery. Show up at the right spot a few minutes early and you will find the group gathering before the run.

There is no membership, no sign-up, and no fee, so you can just walk up and join. Going alone is normal here given how social the structure is, and the post-run beer gives everyone something to do together while you figure out who is who.
