About This Club

La Jolla Track Club runs structured track sessions at UCSD's Triton Track every Tuesday at 5:30pm. It's built around 4 to 6 workout options each week, so it suits runners who want actual interval training rather than a casual group jog. Both beginners and more advanced runners show up, since the workouts are split by ability.

Who It Suits

This suits runners who want structured track training and are comfortable with intervals and repeats rather than steady mileage, including beginners who want that structure from day one. It's not the right fit if you're after a casual social run, walking, or longer trail and road distances, since the sessions are track-based and built around workouts, not open-ended miles.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Sessions are track intervals and short repeats on the Triton Track surface, with 4 to 6 workout options running at the same time so you pick the one that matches your pace. Because it's track work, expect structured reps rather than a long continuous distance. There's no single group pace here, it's several groups training side by side.

Your First Run

Get to Triton Track at UCSD by 5:30pm on a Tuesday. When you arrive, you'll choose from the 4 to 6 workout options on offer that day, including beginner-level sessions, so you're not stuck trying to keep up with a group that's out of your range.

There's no membership required to show up and try it out. If you're worried about being the slowest, the point of having multiple workout options is exactly so that doesn't happen.
