About This Club

Corremos Sacramento is a Latino-led run and walk club founded in 2022, built around wellness and community for people of color, though all abilities are welcome. It meets three times a week in Sacramento parks with flexible distances, so it suits people who want company on their runs or walks more than a training plan. It's free to join with no membership required.

  • Latino-led
  • BIPOC/Latinx focus
  • Safe space for all abilities
  • Inclusive environment
  • Flexible distances
  • Community events

Who It Suits

This suits BIPOC runners, beginners, walkers, and people who want real community connection beyond just logging miles. It's not built for elite racers chasing times or trail runners looking for technical terrain, since the ground here is pavement and park loops with flexible, not competitive, pacing.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Routes range from a 1 mile loop up through 5K, 7K and 10K, so you pick a distance that fits your day rather than the group deciding for you. Pace is open to all abilities, and walking is fine, not just tolerated. Ground is pavement and park loops, nothing technical. Where you meet shifts with the season, Land Park in spring and summer, McKinley Park in fall and winter.

Your First Run

Get to the meetup spot a little early so you have time to find the group before things start. Once there, pick your distance for that day, whether that's the 1 mile loop or something longer.

Nobody's tracking who's fastest here, walkers are welcome and it's built to be workable for beginners, so showing up without a running background isn't a problem. Check which park is in use for the season before you head out, since the location changes between Land Park and McKinley Park.
