About This Club

Black Men Run Boston is the Boston chapter of the national Black Men Run organization, rooted in Roxbury and Dorchester with a focus on brotherhood, unity, and health. They meet every Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and offer 1, 3, or 5 mile options, so you pick the distance that fits you that day. If you are a Black man looking for a consistent Saturday crew in your own neighborhoods, this was built for you.

Who It Suits

This group is built specifically for Black men and centers that identity in everything it does, so that is the core audience. Beginners, walkers, and people who have never run a race in their life are genuinely accommodated by the multi-distance, multi-pace setup. If you are looking for a competitive training group focused on race times, this is probably not your primary training ground.

What a Run With Them Is Like

You start from either Peabody Square in Dorchester or Nubian Square in Roxbury and move on urban streets. The group accommodates running, jogging, walking, and biking on the same outing, so nobody is dropping anyone. With three distance options, you are not locked into a single effort level - you can do the mile on a rough morning and the five-miler when you are feeling strong.

Your First Run

Show up to Peabody Square or Nubian Square at 8 a.m. on a Saturday. The group is explicitly open to all ability levels, walkers included, so showing up slow or out of shape is not an issue - the structure is already built for that.

Going alone for the first time is normal here; the emphasis on brotherhood means the social piece is part of the point, not an afterthought. Check their social pages to confirm which location is running on a given week before you head out.
