About the Esplanade 5K Run & Walk
The course runs along the Charles River Esplanade, a paved riverside path through one of Boston's most-used parks. The route is flat and the surroundings are open water on one side and park greenery on the other. The race falls just before Halloween, and costumes are common enough that they are part of the atmosphere.
Bib pickup is available at the Esplanade Association office and at a running store in Back Bay the days before the race, and there is a registration tent at the course on race morning. Parking in the city is free on race day. Dogs and strollers are welcome during the walk portion of the event. There is a vendor fair, food, and music at the course.
