About This Club

Boston Road Runners is a nonprofit community running club that meets in Back Bay twice a week, Tuesday evenings at 6 pm and Saturday mornings at 8 am, both starting from DICK'S House of Sport on Boylston Street. They welcome runners of all backgrounds and fitness levels, and they also put on local races throughout the year, so there's a path here beyond just the weekly run.

Who It Suits

This club suits urban runners who want a consistent weekly structure and a social element alongside the running. If you're someone who needs a posted pace range before you'll commit to showing up, check with them directly first, because that detail isn't published and you don't want to be caught off guard.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Pace details for the regular group runs aren't published, so it's worth reaching out to the club before your first time out. What they do say about their races is that courses stay open for anyone holding a 13:00-per-mile pace, which gives you a real sense of how inclusive they're trying to be. You're running in Back Bay, so expect city streets and urban terrain.

Your First Run

Show up to 760 Boylston St. at 6 pm on a Tuesday or 8 am on a Saturday and look for the group gathering at DICK'S House of Sport. Since the regular run pace isn't published anywhere, it's a good idea to message them ahead of time and ask what to expect so you're not guessing.

They say they welcome all fitness levels, and the club is beginner-friendly, so showing up not knowing anyone and not knowing how fast the group goes is a totally normal way to start. Nobody is expecting a PR from you on week one.
