About This Club

Boston Fun Run is a weekly Wednesday night run-and-bar-social that rotates around Boston and Cambridge neighborhoods. The run starts and ends at a bar, and the post-run drinks are genuinely part of the plan, not an afterthought. If you want to explore the city on foot and then actually hang out with people after, this is structured around exactly that.

Who It Suits

This suits runners who want the social side of running to actually be social - conversation, a post-run drink, and seeing different parts of the city rather than just logging miles. It works across all running levels because the pace groups self-select. If you want a structured training program, track workouts, or coached sessions, this is not set up for that.

What a Run With Them Is Like

They meet at 7:00 p.m. at whichever bar is hosting that week - so the location changes, which means you get a different slice of the city each time.

The group splits into smaller pace groups, so you are running with people moving at roughly your speed rather than trying to keep up with a pack out ahead of you. The distance varies by event, so check in with them before showing up if mileage matters to your Wednesday training plan.

PaceAll running speeds welcome; group typically splits into smaller groups based on pace so no one has to stay together or follow the official route.

Your First Run

Find out which bar is the meet-up spot for that week - that is your starting point at 7:00 p.m. You do not need to be a member or sign up in advance.

They say you can just run, just show up for the social, or do both, which takes a lot of pressure off a first visit. Because the group splits by pace, you will not be the one person dragging at the back of a single fast pack.
