About This Club

Birch Road Run Club is a free, no-membership social run club meeting up at Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista. It runs twice a week, every week, which makes it a solid option if you want a routine you can actually build a habit around rather than a one-off event.

  • Chula Vista based
  • Weekly consistent schedule
  • Free runs
  • Race team participation

Who It Suits

This suits beginners and people who want a consistent, low-pressure weekly run without any cost or sign-up barrier, especially if you're based in or near Chula Vista. It's less suited to elite racers looking for a fast training group, and trail runners won't find what they need here since it's all roads and pavement.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Runs are 3-5 miles on roads and pavement, with paces described as inclusive and open to all levels. Mondays are an evening run and Saturdays a morning run, both starting from Otay Ranch Town Center. Walkers are welcome, so the run isn't structured as a strict pace-only outing.

Your First Run

Check the club's Instagram beforehand for the latest meeting details, then get to Otay Ranch Town Center a bit early so you can find the group before things get moving. Since walkers are welcome and paces are inclusive, you don't need to worry about being the slowest person there or getting dropped. There's a community social element afterward, so plan to stick around if you want to meet people rather than just running and leaving.
