About This Club

Armature Works Run Club meets up at Armature Works at the Heights in Tampa, right on the Riverwalk, on the first and third Wednesday of each month. It's a social 5K crew led by Coach Ritchie, built around a casual midweek run followed by food and drinks at Heights Public Market. If you want a reason to get out on a Wednesday and don't need a hardcore workout, this fits.

  • Hosted at food hall venue
  • Riverwalk with wildlife views

  • Sponsored by Fit2Run

  • Scenic route
  • All levels welcome

Who It Suits

This suits beginners, people who want midweek social motivation, and anyone who likes the idea of a scenic Riverwalk run followed by food and drinks (including 10% off at BAR AW). It's not built for advanced speedwork, trail running, or runners looking for a daily or weekly training habit, since it only meets twice a month. It's also not set up for strollers or dogs.

What a Run With Them Is Like

The route is a 5K along the Riverwalk, on pavement, so it's flat and easy underfoot. Pace-wise, all paces and experience levels are welcome, and walkers are welcome too, so there's no pressure to hit a certain speed. It's not a daily training group, it's a twice-a-month outing, so treat it as a social run rather than a speed session.

Your First Run

Show up at Armature Works at the Heights (1910 N Ola Ave) by 6:30pm for the warmup, the run itself starts around 6:45pm. Parking nearby is paid, so budget for that. Because walkers are welcome and all paces are explicitly fine, you won't be the slowest person by default and nobody's waiting on a clock.

It's free to join and there's no membership required, so you can just turn up, and it's worth double-checking the Armature Works events page beforehand to confirm the date is still on.
