3ROC Run Club
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Inclusive trail running hub tied to local outdoor shop
About This Club
3ROC Run Club is a trail running group based out of 3 Rivers Outdoor Co., a gear shop in Regent Square, that runs Frick Park every Tuesday night. It's built for trail runners of a wide range of abilities, with four separate pace groups so nobody's guessing where they fit. It runs rain or shine, year-round, so this suits someone who wants a consistent weekly trail run rather than a fair-weather one.
Highlights
- Rain or shine
- Frick Park trails
- Party pace group
- No-drop groups
- Gear shop access
- Nonprofit support
Who It Suits
This suits trail runners who want a no-drop, all-abilities weekly run with an easy on-ramp, including beginners, since Party Pace and the shop setting keep the barrier to entry low. It's not the fit for committed road runners or people chasing competitive, fast-paced group runs, since the terrain is all trail and the four groups top out at 10 min/mile. Dogs and strollers aren't part of the setup, so leave them home.

What a Run With Them Is Like
You'll head out on Frick Park trails in one of four no-drop groups: 10 min/mile, 11 min/mile, or 12 min/mile covering 5-6 miles, or Party Pace at 13-14 min/mile covering 3-5 miles. No-drop means the group you pick stays together rather than stringing out and leaving people behind. In winter or after dark you'll want a headlamp since the trails aren't lit.
Your First Run
Show up at 3 Rivers Outdoor Co. at 6pm on a Tuesday, that's the meeting point and where groups sort out before heading onto the trail. Any pace is genuinely welcome here, and with a dedicated Party Pace group at 13-14 min/mile, you won't be the one holding up a faster pack.
It's free and there's no membership or sign-up required to show, so you can just walk in the door. Bring a headlamp if it'll be dark by the time you're out.

Common Questions About 3ROC Run Club
Do I need to sign up or become a member before showing up?
No. It's free with no membership required, you just show up at 3 Rivers Outdoor Co. at 6pm on Tuesday.
What happens after the run?
There's beer available afterward by donation, with proceeds going to a nonprofit partner, so it's a low-key way to hang around post-run if you want to.
Can I bring my dog or run with a stroller?
No, this club isn't set up for dogs or strollers.
What if it's raining or bad weather?
The club runs rain or shine, so it happens regardless of weather. In winter or after dark, bring a headlamp since you're on unlit trail.
How far will I actually run?
Depends on your group. Party Pace covers 3-5 miles, while the 10, 11, and 12 min/mile groups run 5-6 miles.
Where this comes from: Club details come from each club’s own channels (their site, Meetup, Strava and social posts) and are checked by hand. Group runs move, so confirm the meeting spot on the club’s latest post before you head out. Last updated April 2026.
