About the Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Boston, MA
The race honors a firefighter who strapped on his gear and ran through a tunnel toward the Twin Towers. That story runs through the whole morning at Castle Island, where first responders and military runners often line up in full turnout gear or weighted packs alongside everyone else. Awards recognize those running in gear, not just the fastest finishers.
Parking is available at Castle Island. Packet pickup runs the evening before at a location in South Boston, and again on race morning at the start. Day-of registration is also possible, though picking up in advance saves time. Water is at both the start and the finish.
