About the Thrive San Diego Half Marathon & 5K

Every distance begins and ends at Ski Beach on Mission Bay. The courses follow the bay out toward Crown Point, with flat road surfaces and water on both sides for much of the route. There is no significant climbing; the appeal is the scenery, open bay views, and the breeze off the water.

The race benefits Make-A-Wish San Diego, and that connection shapes how the event is framed. A relay option lets two runners split the half marathon distance, trading off at a point along the Crown Point stretch. The last sentence of the organizer's copy mentions a race-week expo, worth looking into before race morning.
