About the Legacy Loop 5K at Chocolate City Criterium

The course runs on the criterium circuit at the RFK Campus, the same loop that cyclists race on during the Chocolate City Criterium. It is flat and fast, designed for speed, and you cover it several times over. The setting is a big summer sports event, so there is a crowd and real energy around the course.

The race runs two ways: an elite wave for faster runners and an open wave for everyone else. Local run clubs compete separately for a wrestling-style championship belt, which gives the whole thing a team dimension that most road races do not have.
